Over the next 10 years, more than 3,500 potential new K-12 students are expected to move into the district. Current projections show that 15 schools will be over capacity and we will have a deficit of nearly 2,500 K-12 seats for students by 2031 if we do nothing. To help, SoWashCo Schools will ask voters to consider approval of a $462.6 million bond on Aug. 9, 2022.

SoWashCo Schools responds to the recent shooting death tragedies in a New York grocery store and an elementary school in Texas.

Please review our safety protocols and how we ensure student safety. We have also provided resources for families about how to answer your child's questions about what they are seeing on the news.

With mixed emotions, I am writing to announce that after four years at Middleton Elementary I will be leaving as your principal at the end of the school year. Thankfully, I will be staying with South Washington County Schools to serve as the new director for the Department of Teaching and Learning Services for elementary. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Tyrone Brookins will begin a search for Middleton’s next principal immediately. I will work closely with whoever is selected to ensure a smooth transition and strong start for the next school year.

SoWashCo Schools is debuting a new online school boundary tool that will make it easier for families to determine which school their child will attend based on their home address.

The new mapping tool makes it easy for families to type in their address to find their elementary, middle or high school boundary. Users can even zoom in on a specific street to see which boundary school is designated for that area.
