Leadership Change at Middleton Elementary

Leadership Change at Middleton Elementary

Dear Middleton Elementary Community,

With mixed emotions, I am writing to announce that after four years at Middleton Elementary I will be leaving as your principal at the end of the school year. Thankfully, I will be staying with South Washington County Schools to serve as the new director for the Department of Teaching and Learning Services for elementary.

My appreciation for, and connection to, Middleton students, staff and families has made leaving a very difficult decision. The incredible school community that has been built helps each child feel a sense of belonging and has helped us get through some challenging times. The culture of respect and encouragement has empowered students on their educational journey.

Assistant Superintendent Dr. Tyrone Brookins will begin a search for Middleton’s next principal immediately. I will work closely with whoever is selected to ensure a smooth transition and strong start for the next school year. To help, please take a moment to complete a short survey. This survey will help your next principal understand the priorities of our school community. You will also have an opportunity to meet your new principal before school starts in the fall.

I am so appreciative for the opportunity to work with you and your child over the last several years. I will miss the community of students, staff and families that made working at Middleton Elementary an amazing experience and I will never forget, “It’s a GREAT day to be a Mustang!” I am looking forward to contributing to all SoWashCo Elementary Schools and families next year.
